Power Quality Analysis
Power Quality Analysis testing is the process of monitoring and evaluating the electrical power supplied to systems and equipment to ensure that it meets required safety and compliance standards in regards to voltage fluctuations, interruptions, harmonics, or other disturbances that could affect the performance of electrical equipment.
BENEFITS OF POWER QUALITY ANALYSIS
PQA Testing
PQA Testing Time
Depending on the scope of testing, Power Quality Analysis takes a minimum of 7 days but can be longer for long-term data collection which may be needed to identify patterns of voltage fluctuations, harmonics, or other issues. Long-term collection may involve monitoring equipment in place for a few days or weeks, but it will not involve any disruptions to productivity or the work day.
WHAT IF THERE ARE ISSUES?
If there are any identified issues or disturbances to electrical equipment or systems, clear documentation will be provided which notes any deviations or abnormalities from the limits defined by compliance standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, or national standards). It is also important to have Power Quality Analysis testing carried out by a registered electrician, electrical contractor or electrical engineer who are trained in reading the specialised equipment needed to conduct testing and are knowledgeable with compliance and health and safety regulations. If there are any issues we can do the required remedial work to resolve the PQA issues.
Can PQA Testing Be Done During Working Hours?
Yes, Power Quality Analysis testing can be efficiently carried out during regular working hours with little disruption to the day. However, depending on the nature of the business or industry, some clients may choose to have the installation of the Power Quality Analyser installed during off-peak times to minimise disruptions.
